Facilities & Hygiene

Located in my private home, I maintain a professional massage studio - fully equipped with an extra-large table, heated blankets, hot stones, cups (used for cupping) and a variety of essential oils for aroma therapy. While I do understand life gets busy and people often stop in the middle of their days to get a massage, I do ask that you try to be as hygienic as possible. There is a full bathroom with a shower as needed.

Hydration:

It cannot be overstated how important it is to be well hydrated on massage day. Proper hydration prior to a massage ensures your muscles are supple and pliable for manipulation. During your session, your lymphatic system will be stimulated, helping release metabolic waste - so post-massage hydration is just as important to promote detoxification.

The Importance of Breathing:

Nothing improves mind-body awareness like focusing on your breath. It facilitates muscle relaxation, enhances circulation, reduces pain sensitivity, and promotes emotional release. It can be difficult for some, myself included, to relax at the beginning of a massage. I’ve found that focusing on breathing in for 4 seconds and out for 8-10 seconds puts me in the perfect state of mind & body to be fully receptive to the therapist.

Know Your Body:

Where do you carry your tension? Does moving or flexing in a certain way cause sharp pain? Have you had any recent injuries, surgeries, tattoos, or is there anywhere you don’t like to be massaged? Do you have any allergies? A massage is very much a collaboration between therapist and client, so be sure to share any pertinent information order for you to get the most out of your session.
